The study investigates whether both rapid improvements in challenging speech recognition and those gained from longer training stem from the same general perceptual learning mechanism. We will test for consistent individual differences in this learning to see if they indicate a general learning skill, and examine how these differences relate to sensory processing, cognitive and linguistic abilities.

This study aims to adapt the PLAI-2 diagnostic tool for Arabic-speaking children aged 3-6 in Israel, considering three major dialects. The process involves meticulous translation, validation of the tool's reliability and validity, and the creation of national norms. The findings are expected to significantly improve the diagnosis and treatment of developmental language disorders in this population.
