I am a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Communication Disorders and a speech-language therapist. I hold a BA and MA in Communication Disorders from Tel Aviv University and completed my PhD in the Department of Learning Disabilities at the University of Haifa under the supervision of the late Prof. Zvia Breznitz.
Research Focus
My research centers on speech, language, and literacy development across diverse populations. Currently, I pursue three main research lines:
Speech Perception Under Challenging Conditions: In collaboration with Prof. Karen Banai and Prof. Yizhar Lavner, I investigate how individuals learn to perceive speech in acoustically challenging listening environments.
Evidence-Based Assessment Tools: Working with Dr. Yasmin Mansour-Adwan, I develop culturally and linguistically appropriate language assessment and intervention tools for speech-language therapists serving Hebrew- and Arabic-speaking children.
Language and Literacy Interface: In partnership with Prof. David Share, I examine the critical role of language abilities in reading and spelling acquisition among Hebrew- and Arabic-speaking children.
Professional Service
I serve on the executive board of the Israeli Speech, Language, and Hearing Association, contributing to the advancement of our profession and the promotion of evidence-based practice in Israel.
